Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about making short videos with available tools, from the first story idea to planning, filming, editing and sharing. Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option.
What we are looking for
Strong contributions have a clear reader in mind and one useful idea at their centre. We are interested in ways to make creative choices with limited resources, explain a film-making concept plainly, or help a maker plan a manageable project. Pieces should be safe to try without specialist training and should not depend on country-specific rules.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the proposed subject, the central point, why it suits this publication and how you would keep it distinct from existing coverage. A short outline is helpful. If the idea compares options, say what the comparison will help readers decide; if it explains a process, make clear what readers will be able to understand or do.
Original work and review
Pitches should be original and accurately describe the writer's contribution. Do not send confidential material or claim testing, research or expertise that was not carried out. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we may suggest a different scope or decline an idea that does not fit.
A good story needs attention, not a pile of gear.
We focus on clear ideas and resourceful choices. Start with what is available, then let each tool serve the story.
